At Holm Care, we share your concerns about how the current pandemic is affecting older people and home care services in Greater Manchester. We’re constantly monitoring the situation and adapting our response according to Government guidelines and people’s needs. Our main concern throughout remains the safety and welfare of our carers, and those they care for.
We very much believe that we should continue to provide our home care and live-in care services to support the elderly in Greater Manchester during these worrying times, especially when the vulnerable are being asked to stay at home as much as possible. That is why we are following advice from the Government and NHS in order to keep people safe and minimise the risk of spreading the virus.
All of our carers are provided with the necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when providing support during the pandemic. This includes facemasks, disposable aprons, gloves and hand sanitisers. We are also encouraging all our care team to have regular coronavirus testing as they are key workers.
In the unfortunate event that a carer does have a positive diagnosis, we will be asking them to self-isolate in accordance with national guidelines. We appreciate that this will also mean having to cancel their care appointments booked during that time, but we will endeavour to help find cover during that period in order to continue supporting our customers.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding during the Coronavirus pandemic. Some things really are beyond our control, but we remain committed to providing the best home care for the elderly across Greater Manchester.
Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss further concerns about the Coronavirus, or how Holm Care can help you.
